Queens Park Rangers have once again shown they are a club moving forward in the right direction with the news they have appointed Manisha Tailor as a part-time academy coach.

Working under well-respected British coach Chris Ramsey, Tailor will focus on the under-9 and under-11 age groups as she continues her footballing education.

Having completed her Uefa B License last year, the former deputy headteacher was finding it hard to get access at academy level even though she had previously been a scout at Brentford.

“My aim is to be a foundation phase specialist,” the 36-year-old told Squawka. “I want to be the best at that level. I’ve done some bots with the under-16 and I’ve shadowed the under-18 and 23s.

“I’ve had the qualification for a while but it’s very challenging to get access at academy level.

“But it’s amazing to shadow Chris, Paul [Hall] and the other coaches to see what they are doing to nurture and develop players.”
